Dear Oak Grove Families, Staff, and Supporters, I would like to invite you to our Parental Involvement Night that will be held on December 11. We would like to begin at 4:30, but you are welcome to come later as some sessions will be recurring. Topics discussed will include: Oak Grove’s achievement scores on the TCAP test and how they relate to NCLB, AYP, and TVAAS; grading policy changes; introductions to Tennessee’s curriculum standards; parent and student resources that are aligned with Tennessee’s curriculum standards; three-tiered reading model; and our guidance program. Refreshments will be served with the help of our Parent Club and a silent auction will be conducted. We respectfully ask that children not attend as space may be limited. I look forward to seeing you there. Lyn Stacey Principal P.S. I would like to add, especially for those that may not be able to attend, that our TCAP scores were great. For the second year, our school earned straight A’s on achievement. Also, our AYP scores, which determine our No Child Left Behind (NCLB) status, were exceptional. Our students are learning and performing well. I would like to offer congratulations to our students, teachers, assistants, staff, and parents on another successful year. I’d also like to encourage you to look at our scores in detail at www.state.tn.us/education/reportcard/ . |

The Oak Grove faculty and staff believe that parents and families play a vital role in the educational well-being of our students. We believe that parents, families, teachers, and administrators must work together cooperatively for student achievement.
As a school-wide Title I school, parents are required to participate in planning, designing, implementing, and evaluating the school's goals and programs. Parents are represented on each School Improvement Committee and on the Title I Committee.
Oak Grove's School Improvement Plan includes additional information and examples of ways parents are informed and asked to contribute to the schools and its policies. This plan will be available online soon. Presently, the Marshall County Title I Parent Involvement Policy is available through the link below:
