Election Day 2016

Oak Grove students participated in the election process in a big way. Kindergarten students delivered their votes in student sized voting booths. The students were voting for their favorite type of corn: popcorn, candy corn or corn on the cob. After the ballot boxes were filled, popcorn was the clear winner with candy corn a close second!

First graders voted both electronically and with a paper ballot. Students used computers to vote for their favorite in the Studies Weekly online presidential election. Then they cast their paper ballot on the candidate of their choice. The final tally showed Donald Trump (81 votes) as the winner over Hillary Clinton (67 votes).

Another election proved chocolate to be the favorite ice cream flavor among teachers and students   voting in Mrs. Holly’s classroom. Other flavors in the running were vanilla and strawberry.
