Animal Myths & Legends - This Australian site has collected a number of legends and packaged them, nicely illustrated, in a single collection that’s easy to browse. Upper elementary students can use these on their own, or try them as a read-along for primary students.

Literary Elements Mapping - An activity from Read Write Think that walks students through 4 different organizers - Character Map, Conflict Map, Resolution Map, and Setting Map.

3.2.spi.2 Identify the purpose for writing (i.e., to entertain, to inform, to exhibit knowledge, to respond to a picture, story, or art). A Seaside Postcard - This humorous (and creative) web activity challenges the students to add dialog to a seaside postcard. Students move the mouse over the picture to find the dialog boxes. When you click in the boxes, the cursor will allow you to type in your dialog. Once all boxes are completed, click the print button to see the entire picture with your dialog.
