Oak Grove's Mission and Beliefs

When Oak Grove became a Pre-K through 1st Grade school during the 2013 - 2014 school year, we felt the need to revise our school's mission statement and beliefs.

Our Mission Statement

Our purpose at Oak Grove Elementary School is to provide a safe, accessible, high quality early childhood education founded on a developmentally appropriate curriculum, knowledgeable faculty, and comprehensive services that lay a foundation encouraging all lifelong learners to be respectful, responsible, caring, and healthy.

Our Beliefs

At Oak Grove, we believe:

1. Each student is a diverse learner with unique intellectual, physical, social, and emotional needs.

2. All children can learn given appropriate time, instruction, and access to resources.

3. Education is a shared responsibility. Supportive relationships and mutual respect among home, school, and the community are essential.

4. Educational policies and programs promote developmentally appropriate instruction.

5. Assessments and thoughtful observations drive instruction to develop critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity as we focus on the whole child.

6. A safe, orderly instructional environment is essential for meaningful learning to take place.

7. A challenging learning environment creates high expectations for student success.

8. Quality faculty and staff are essential to school excellence.

  BoxTops forEducation

Oak Grove will be collecting aluminum pop tops for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville. This facility greatly impacts our community and we would like to give back. The mission of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville is to “keep families close” by providing essential resources and a “home away from home” for families of critically ill children receiving inpatient or outpatient medical care at Nashville area hospitals. There is a collection bin outside of your school counselor’s office. Thank you for making a difference.
